Novel Asymmetric T-Shaped Radiating Element for Circularly-Polarized Waveguide Slot Arrays

Waveguide slot arrays are a widely used solution to attain linearly polarized high-gain antennas. In this article, an all-metal T-shaped radiating element is conceived with the aim replace usual rectangular slots and circularly arrays, preserving their good properties. The polarization conversion made possible due inclusion of parasitic arm perpendicular main active slot. Due fact that second not directly fed by waveguide but coupled slot, can be in any array originally formed metallic slots. design resonant shunt has been addressed here for validation purposes. experimental results two sample linear at 30 GHz demonstrate accuracy manufacturing reliability, reporting axial ratio below 2 dB within bandwidth 1.9 peak efficiency around 98%.
